The ZSL-10 is the armoured personnel carrier (APC) variant of China's Type 08 family of modular 8×8 armoured vehicles, developed for the People's Liberation Army (PLA) during the late 2000s. Designed to provide protected mobility for mechanised infantry, it shares its chassis with several other Type 08 variants, including infantry fighting vehicles, reconnaissance vehicles and assault gun versions, allowing the PLA to simplify logistics and maintenance across multiple vehicle types.

Designed to transport a crew and up to ten fully equipped infantry soldiers, the ZSL-10 combines high road speed with excellent cross-country performance. It is armed with a manually operated 12.7mm heavy machine gun housed in a protected cupola, while some operational variants are fitted with remotely operated weapon stations. The vehicle is also fully amphibious, using rear-mounted water jets to cross rivers and other inland waterways without preparation.

The ZSL-10 serves as a key component of modern PLA combined-arms brigades, providing protected transport for infantry while supporting rapid deployment across a wide variety of terrain. Its modular design has made the Type 08 family one of the most important wheeled combat vehicle platforms in current Chinese military service, with variants continuing to evolve to meet changing operational requirements.
