The M1025A2 Hummer Armament Carrier is an upgraded version of the legendary High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), more commonly known as the Humvee. Developed by AM General, the HMMWV entered U.S. military service during the 1980s as a highly versatile replacement for the ageing Jeep fleet, serving in roles ranging from troop transport to command, communications and weapons carrier.

The M1025A2 is an armoured weapons carrier introduced as part of the HMMWV A2 modernisation programme. Designed to improve mobility, reliability and crew protection, it features an upgraded suspension, reinforced drivetrain and enhanced braking system. Additional armour made from steel, Kevlar and ballistic materials provides improved protection against small-arms fire and battlefield hazards while maintaining the vehicle's renowned off-road capability.

Typically equipped with a roof-mounted M2HB .50 calibre heavy machine gun, the M1025A2 can also be configured to carry the Mk 19 40mm automatic grenade launcher or BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missile system, depending on operational requirements. This flexibility has allowed the vehicle to perform a wide variety of missions, including convoy escort, reconnaissance, security patrols, military police duties and force protection.

The M1025A2 has served extensively with the United States Army in conflicts including Iraq and Afghanistan, where its mobility and versatility made it an indispensable battlefield asset. Although later supplemented by more heavily protected MRAP vehicles in high-threat environments, the HMMWV family remains in widespread service around the world and continues to evolve to meet modern operational demands.

Today, the M1025A2 represents one of the most recognisable military utility vehicles ever produced.
